First, Happy Weekend my blog reading friends. I hope it is going well for you and I hope you are able to find a quiet place to accomplish some great writing.
Now back to the title of this post. Do I really need to explain why a website is essential in the promotion of your book? Maybe I should really, instead of telling you why one is esssential, explain the simplicity of building and maintaining one.
First, you don’t need to spend a lot of money on a site. Sites such as WordPress, Yahoo and Blogger offer either low cost, or free, easy websites. You don’t even have to know HTML to build one. These same sites also offer easy to use design tools or WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). I would highly recommend purchasing your own domain name, which you can easily purchase from sites such as Go Daddy (www.godaddy.com). You will then only pay a small ($10 last I checked) fee per year to keep the site.
Your website is not only a great way to sell, market and promote your book(s), it’s also a great way to get feedback and such.
And well, if you still don’t feel confident you can of course hire someone to do it for you.
I’ll leave this post at that and really, even if you only pay to purchase your own domain name, the ROI will make any time and effort on the site well worth it!
